From a drone pilot program to drone operations

Drone technology offers huge benefits for the shipping industry – and now, the U.K.’s Associated British Ports (ABP) has moved from a drone pilot program to drone operations.

SWYFT Drone NewsAccording to the press release, ABP “has successfully embedded drone technology into its asset management practices and policies.” This means drones will be a constant presence in ports, helping with port-based operations and navigating ships into the harbor.

The two companies that are responsible for the project are the consulting firm PwC and Aerodyne, the drone solution provider.
