Drone technology offers huge benefits for the shipping industry – and now, the U.K.’s Associated British Ports (ABP) has moved from a drone pilot program to drone operations.
According to the press release, ABP “has successfully embedded drone technology into its asset management practices and policies.” This means drones will be a constant presence in ports, helping with port-based operations and navigating ships into the harbor.
The two companies that are responsible for the project are the consulting firm PwC and Aerodyne, the drone solution provider.
